Rock Steady Boxing Conesus Lake

Rock Steady Boxing is a non- contact group boxing class for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease or atypical Parkinsonian disorders. It is specifically designed to address Parkinson’s disease at its vulnerable neurological points, and focuses on overall fitness, strength, balance, reaction time, coordination and safety. The Rock Steady science-backed curriculum can be adapted for various levels of Parkinson’s involvement , with modifications for maximum participation. Rock Steady classes are fun, supportive and provide a community for people fighting back together against Parkinson’s Disease. Recent studies suggest that intense exercise programs may be neuro-protective, actually working to delay the progression of Parkinson’s Disease symptoms.

To get started, an initial assessment done by a certified Rock Steady Coach ensures each boxer is placed in a group class appropriate for their level of fitness and ability, addresses any possible safety issues present, and gives you one on one time with your coach to ask any questions you may have.
